Clear Soul Forces (Detroit) posted this track on the 13th, saying “In honor of becoming verified on Twitter yesterday, we decided to drop some unreleased music for the fans!” Is it an honor though? I understand that truly famous artists need their accounts verified (as a “necessary evil” of sorts) because there is an potential significant economic upside/downside to someone pretending to be them. I follow the logic that becoming “verified” as a less widely known artist implies a certain level of success but is any one really trying to pretend to be Clear Soul Forces? I’m not knocking them, I liked them on Slum’s “Un Fuc Witable” and I think this track is great but for perspective, Idris Elba, their featured vocalist has 88 times as many Twitter followers as they do. I’m just saying (to everyone, because this a big picture problem): Make art. Disperse. If we’re on one of your pages (which we are if we are seeing your content) then we see your numbers, they don’t mean that your art is good, stop telling us about them.
Sidenote 1: Beat by Astronote.
Sidenote 2: When did Idris add MC to to his list of skills? I knew he DJed but this is new to me.
