Song of the Day: “Bucket” by Stik Figa

Stik Figa (Topeka, KS) released his Oddisee-produced From The Top EP in late 2010. I usually don’t check for lyrics but “i lied a couple bars ago, you know these broads ain’t feelin’ me” tuned me into this anti-baller ode.

Song of the Day: “One Daaay” by Brenk Sinatra

Brenk Sinatra (Vienna, Austria) released his album Gumbo 2: Pretty Ugly last year on Melting Pot Music out of Cologne, Germany. I’m really looking forward to Supa Soul Sh*t – his collaborative album with Miles Bonny under the name S3, coming out October 26th.

Song of the Day: “I’m Not Listening” by Rumpistol / Red Baron

Rumpistol / Red Baron (Copenhagen/Los Angeles) released their album Floating April 13th on Project Mooncircle. This is my favorite track.

Song of the Day: “A Place In My Heart” by Taylor McFerrin featuring RYAT

This song was featured on Brownswood Bubblers 6 and was supposed to be the lead single from Taylor McFerrin‘s Early Riser album on Brainfeeder last year but I don’t think that the album ever came out – anyone know differently? (Official video here, available on iTunes here). Bonus points for the 7/8 time signature.
