i heart nyc

i got off the train at west 4th street last week and low and behold, Kurtis Blow was performing 50 feet away from me on the basketball court. where else is that going to happen? i mean really? this picture was after he finished and was being interviewed.

   dude… I wouldn’t know KB if he came up and introduced himself…. How do you know what he looks like after all of these years?

   oh, it took me a minute! he was cycling through various people’s old-school hits and he said something like, “kane’s performing in brooklyn tonight but if he were here he would say…” and then did a kane verse that’s when i started to figure out who he was.
